You can check out the announcement trailer for Hades below.Note: □ indicates a change inspired by community feedback! Our latest patch notes are below: I’m definitely crossing my fingers for an announcement soon, but I’m also not holding my breath. I know that’s probably not the answer you wanted to hear, and it’s certainly not the news I wanted to give (I was hoping to rush out to grab a physical game this very day), but them’s the breaks. (You can sign up at the bottom of the About Us page on the official Limited Run Games website.) The best thing you can do in the meantime is to make sure you’re on Limited Run’s mailing list. Transistor first came out in May of 2014 (though it came out on Switch in November of 2018) and I didn’t get my physical copy for Switch until earlier this year (and I preordered it as soon as the physical version was announced). For reference, Pyre, which was also made by Supergiant Games, came out in July of 2017 and doesn’t yet have a physical edition. Of course, we probably won’t know for certain for a good while yet. It’s not outside the realm of possibility to hope these companies would work together again in the future to bring us a lovely physical edition of Hades. ![]() Now, this is speculative, but here’s some good news for cartridge enthusiasts like myself: Supergiant Games (the studio behind Hades) has worked with Limited Run Games in the past on physical editions for both Bastionand Transistor. So far, the game is only available digitally (and it’s selling incredibly well), but that doesn’t mean it will be exclusively digital for all of eternity. Well, the answer to that is currently unknown. ![]() ![]() If you’re anything like me, when you saw the announcement trailer for Hades on Nintendo Switch, your first thought was, “Will this get a physical release?” I’m a huge fan of Nintendo Switch cartridges, to the point that I imported Stardew Valley from Japan ( before a US version was available). The original article appears in its entirety below. Update: Hades is officially getting a physical edition.
